The Journey Of A Teaching Artist

Hello! I’m Hannah Sophia (They/Them), a passionate singer/songwriter and teaching artist based in the Pacific Northwest. Music has been a cornerstone of my life—a source of healing, growth, and connection. From a young age, I discovered the transformative power of songwriting, which helped me navigate life’s complexities and express my deepest emotions. Today, I dedicate my career to not only creating music but also helping others explore their own creative paths.

A Journey of Artistry and Education

With a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music, focusing on singing and songwriting, I founded Hannah Sophia Music LLC, a space where artistry and teaching converge. Over the past decade, I’ve released five EPs, crowdfunded two major projects, posted over 75 original songs on Patreon, and completed the first draft of an autobiographical musical. Alongside these creative endeavors, I've had the privilege of guiding hundreds of students to find their voices and tell their stories through music.

Creating Spaces for Healing and Growth

My approach to teaching is holistic and trauma-informed, blending contemporary vocal pedagogy with nervous system regulation techniques. This method supports students not just in developing their technical skills, but in fostering deeper emotional connection and self-expression. Whether in one-on-one lessons, workshops, or song circles, my mission is to make the tools of songwriting and creativity accessible to everyone, helping people embrace their vulnerabilities and unlock their creative potential.

Musical Projects: Storytelling Through Seasons and More

In 2018, I released Seasons, a crowdfunded, multi-year project that spans four EPs, each representing a season of life. This immersive work combines music, visual art, and storytelling, offering listeners a unique journey through the shifting emotional landscapes of spring, summer, fall, and winter. I’ve also released Say Hello, an EP in collaboration with one of my talented students, Cortnie Graham, which explores themes of depression and relationships.

I am currently working on new projects with my bands Oregon Honeycomb and The Sibsters, and preparing to release a collection of songs under my new duo, Floribunda. Throughout these collaborations, my goal remains the same: to connect with listeners on a deep, emotional level.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Hannah Sophia Music

As I continue to create and share music, I’m excited about what’s to come—releasing new music videos, producing my autobiographical musical, and expanding my teaching offerings. My dream is to grow Hannah Sophia Music LLC into a space where creativity and healing intersect, and where everyone who walks through the door feels empowered to express themselves and tell their story.

Thank you for being a part of this journey. Whether you’re interested in lessons, workshops, or simply want to connect, I’m always here to chat about music, creativity, and the stories that shape our lives.
